Husker Football: Nebraska Up To No. 18 In Coaches Poll

Following the decimation of the Florida Atlantic Owls, the Nebraska Cornhuskers jumped up four spots in the Amway Coaches Poll. The Husker football team now finds itself ahead of fellow Big Ten member Wisconsin.

Two other Big Ten teams remain in the Top 10 with the Michigan State Spartans at No. 6 immediately followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 7.

The Spartans were listed as the nation’s No. 8 team last week while the Buckeyes slipped a spot after struggling with Navy in Baltimore.

As if the Michigan State-Oregon game needed any more build up, Sparty will now be visiting the No. 4 team in the land according to the coaches.

Whether or not Nebraska will advance at all following McNeese State is hard to say.

With another fantastic day by Ameer Abdullah along with career bests by a few other players, it’s possible that they might move ahead one spot.

Ultimately, it’s likely this will be determined by how those in front of them in the poll perform.
