A former Husker football kicker is now looking for a new loving home. Start printing out and laminating signs. Nebraska’s former big-booted, skinny-as-a-rail wonder Alex Henery is on the market.
He was cut Saturday, mere hours before his alma mater kicked off its season against Florida Atlantic.

He told Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com that should he be cut, he was entirely confident he would find a gig elsewhere despite his shaky preseason.
Other than the two missed kicks, I think I am pretty consistent guy,” Henery said. “I think my first three years I think I kicked the ball well. Kicks offs are improving. I think I’m an NFL kicker.
It’s just one of those things. Find the right spot at the right time if it’s not here. I don’t think I’m done if they don’t want me here. I’m confident in myself, and that’s how it’s always been.”
With Henery back on the market, it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets some immediate phone calls for tryouts.
