Some very interesting Husker football news came across the Four Letters’ wire this afternoon in regards to Memorial Stadium. Well, more so about what happens inside it.
Is 2014 the year that the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ sellout streak officially ends? Honestly, it’s very unlikely. The tickets can be picked up easily, but a more pressing question is what happens once those tickets get in the hot hands of a Nebraska fan?
While worry about the streak actually ending will likely subside, the actual football team itself will decide whether or not it matters.
Being able to boast that every seat has an owner is one thing, but when said spots aren’t filled with rear ends, that’s when a problem arises.
It’s all well and good that fans have the option to catch a home game, but will they go if Nebraska stubs its toe or the season takes a turn for the worse?
Technically, the streak itself shouldn’t be seen as an issue. Any large swaths of empty seats are the real danger.
