Did you honestly think Nebraska football’s head man wasn’t going to get in on the Ice Bucket Challenge? Not only did he participate, he called out several including one of everyone’s favorites.
If you’re not familiar with what the challenge is all about, from the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis awareness web site:
The challenge involves people getting doused with buckets of ice water on video, posting that video to social media, then nominating others to do the same, all in an effort to raise ALS awareness.
It’s certainly done just that. Coach Pelini’s not the only Nebraska coach to take the challenge, either.
The challenge has certainly brought the attention that was asked for. From the same site:
Between July 29 and today, August 12, The ALS Association and its 38 chapters have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year.
Barbara Newhouse, President and CEO of The ALS Association has been taken aback by the amount of generosity and impact she’s seen.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the level of compassion, generosity and sense of humor that people are exhibiting as they take part in this impactful viral initiative.”
Now that college football’s Internet darling has been doused in what’s likely very refreshing chilled water during this Nebraska summer, will the challenged step up?
A better question may be if Faux Pelini decides to be a part, how will that go down?
Might a member of Husker Corner be involved? Keep an eye out for that.
