That’s not a sign of disrespect. It should tell you that major cogs which make the Big Red Machine tick are at a premium these days.

Sure, two out of the three quarterbacks could become rock solid starter-caliber players. Terrell Newby could burst onto the scene and be so good he’s on SportsCenter every week, but as of right now, that ain’t happening.

Back to Gregory. If he goes down, obviously a massive chunk of Pelini’s current scheme goes with him. Joe Keels and A.J. Natter are going to see plenty of time and Marcus Newby’s going to get picked up far more on his pass rushes.

If this happens, I suppose the good news is that A.) Gregory took out an insurance policy and B.) he’ll probably be coming back for his senior year.
