Huskers Recruiting in The Wake of Hunter Dale's Decommit

Well, that was odd. The Huskers recruiting staff finally picked up a mid-summer #BOOM, there was much revelry and then…not.

Safety Hunter Dale appeared to have filled out the Big Red’s defensive back needs, but did a 180 on his commitment so fast, it made Nebraska fans’ heads spin.

What could’ve caused such a quick switch? Usually when prospects commit and rapidly change their minds, it’s a realization that they acted too quickly. Besides, there’s plenty of time to make sure that Nebraska is where Dale wants to go.

Interestingly, he deleted all tweets that showed pictures of him with various players and head coach Bo Pelini. Essentially, his trip to Nebraska never existed on Twitter (unless you took screenshots).

In the meantime, the Huskers are after another safety that would suit Charlton Warren’s needs just as well as Dale.

Will Sunderland, the No. 11 safety overall and No. 4 prospect in the state of Oklahoma likely shreds Dale’s chance to wear scarlet and cream. Sunderland holds offers from Ohio State, Arkansas and the in-state Sooners and Cowboys.

His primary recruiter from Lincoln, NE? Warren. If anyone’s going to get the job done, it’s the former Air Force Academy staff member.
