Once the Husker recruiting staff decided to move forward with signing another quarterback for the 2015 class, an exciting prospect popped up on the radar.
Now, it turns out that he may be leaning the Big Red’s way.
Boynton Beach, FL’s Lamar Jackson had been tabbed as a West Virginia Mountaineer from February through May.
Saturday Down South‘s Brian F. McLaughlin, Land-Grant Holy Land‘s Luke Zimmermann and Ian Cuevas, Noles247‘s Christopher Nee and GatorBait‘s Luke Stampini all pointed to Morgantown as Jackson’s eventual destination.
However, 247Sports’ crystal ball now shows scarlet winds sweeping in.
The Omaha World-Herald‘s Sam McKewon, Owl’s Nest‘s Andrew Ivins, EerSports‘ Chris Anderson, 247sports national analyst JC Shurburtt and Demetric Warren, Director of Scouting and Recruiting for Varsitypreps.com all tab Jackson as a Husker.
Non-recruitniks may say, “Great, some people think the No. 12 dual-threat signal-caller recruit’s going to commit to Nebraska. So what?”
The telling part of these predictions is that a national analyst’s projection isn’t the only weight behind the claim. Warren, who’s at the tippity-top of the totem pole when it comes to scouting and recruiting for Varsitypreps.com agrees.
Still skeptical? If Anderson, a guy that works for a site that specifically covers West Virginia athletics believes Jackson’s Nebraska-bound, that’s some pretty significant input.
I should also point out that Shurburtt, Warren and Anderson’s predictions were made on July 16.
Yes, it’s still only summer and there’s a long way until Signing Day, but Tim Beck’s shown relentlessness when going after whom he wants when it comes to quarterbacks.
