Huskers Offensive Lineman's Marriage Plans Go Viral

Do you pledge allegiance to the Huskers? If so, you’ll probably get plenty of help from your fellow Big Red fans if you ask nicely. Former Nebraska softballer Megan Southworth is putting that idea to the test.

Recently engaged, Southworth decided to see if she and her handsome husband-to-be, current Husker offensive lineman Mike Moudy, could count on the power of the online Nebraska fan vote to help them with wedding expenses.

If the Internet has learned anything about Nebraska fans, it’s that challenging them to an online vote is akin to slapping a gentleman with your glove in the 1700s.

Designer wedding gown company Maggie Sottero is currently offering a chance to win a free wedding dress and $2,000. All one has to do to vote to help is like the brand’s Facebook page and vote for the happiest of couples.

As of this writing, that pair (get this) is wearing a large No. 74 jersey on the left and far more casual attire on the right while holding a 127 vote lead. Not a bad reversal of fortune considering they were sitting well behind first place mere days ago.

It just goes to show what manners and the power of Husker Nation can do for one of its own. It doesn’t hurt when you wear a jersey, though.

If you’re interested in joining the online crusade to help Mike and Megan, the page to like is here. It’ll be easy to find the couple’s photo, I promise.

I quit pledging allegiance to the Huskers the day Pelini dissed Tommie Frazier. Wont be a fan again until Pelini is gone for good.

So you find your fandom stripped due to the coach?

lighten up. tommy was kinda being a dip weed too. Husker fandom is intense. grow up.

To be fair, coach Pelini did instigate that back and forth. Could it have been resolved better? Sure, but it also didn’t have to take place in the first place.
