5. at Fresno State

The Bulldogs lost Derek Carr who was arguably the heart and soul of the team during his time in the Valley. Still, you can never take this pack of Dawgs lightly, especially when you walk into their yard.

Besides Fresno State’s usual scrappiness, the Huskers have to contend with a game that wouldn’t kick off until 9:30 p.m. back home. Regardless, Pelini’s had issues with primetime road games whether or not the opponent’s ranked.

To start the 2014 season on the right note, after two assumed large margin defeats of Florida Atlantic and McNeese State, Nebraska needs to walk into Fresno, CA and win. No more, no less. Doesn’t matter if it’s by one point or 30.

Getting a nighttime road win in game three would be huge for morale and momentum.
