Husker Football: Catching Up With Nebraska Alumni In OTAs

Break’s about to end for current Husker football players, but former ones are already grinding across the country. Some of the newest members of their respective NFL squads, feedback’s starting to trickle out of camps about how former Big Red stars have fared thus far.

Stanley Jean-Baptiste is up to his old tricks in the Big Easy, already stripping footballs away. This time from teammate Andy Tanner, ESPN.com’s Mike Triplett reports.

Spencer Long seems to be settling in nicely with the Redskins:

– Now a New York Jets receiver, ESPN.com reports that Quincy Enunwa‘s having some slight difficulties early on.

“(Enunwa) sat out with a leg injury. He termed it “a sprain,” declining to reveal the injured body part. He said he expects to be back for Friday’s practice.” – Rich Cimini – ESPNNewYork.com

– Detroit Lion Mohammed Seisay had an opportunity to pick off a Dan Orlovsky pass, but was unable to complete the snag.

Some positive news, some negative, about what you’d expect for newbies trying to fit in with the one percent of football players who can compete at this level. We’ll continue to monitor their progress and see if anyone can break out as a major player early in their career.
