Josh Banderas Recieves Diversion, Felony Theft Charges Dropped

Let the speculation end. Nebraska sophomore linebacker Josh Banderas will be participating in pretrial diversion according to the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office.

Both he and Nebraska track and field team member Lucas Keifer faced felony theft charges after an incident last Monday involving the theft of seven bicycles from a university bike rack. The pair were charged with possession of burglary tools and theft by unlawful taking. They were then released on a $3,500 bond.

Deputy County Attorney Bruce Prenda has stated that there is an option to refile the charges if Banderas does not fully complete diversion. Lucas Keifer’s case remains open at this time.

Head coach Bo Pelini has yet to comment on the incident.
