Thanks to diligent work by the Nebraska recruiting staff, the Big Red snagged some major prospects early. You won’t have to wait for them to sign on the dotted line to see them go up against the best of the best.
The U.S. Army All-American Game sticks out as the most well-known of recruit showcases (in no small part because of Desean Jackson).
Rosters are finalized in the fall, but the folks who run the show are already getting envelopes in Husker commits’ hands. Charlton Warren’s early defensive back additions of Eric Lee and Avery Anderson scored golden tickets. Offensive lineman Christian Gaylord also holds one high above his head.
Kevin Dillman, the Swedish Sensation of Tim Beck’s eye, claims an invitation as do the Davis Brothers of Blue Springs, MO (Khalil and Carlos).
Surprisingly, Kendall Bussey has not received an offer to attend.
He’s likely to pick one up down the road, though. It’s only May and more offers are likely to come rolling in for him following camps. That’s about when the trigger’s pulled for athletes that don’t already have their notifications printed up immediately following Signing Day.
As of now, it’s unlikely that any other current members of the Nebraska recruiting class will be invited. That may sound like an insult. Keep in mind that 50 percent of this class is up for a spot in one of the biggest recruiting games of the year.
That’s a compliment of fairly high value.
