Welcome back for your weekend dose of Big Red Morphine, Husker Cornerians! As the now drafted former Cornhuskers take to NFL mini-camps, we went to the libraries and shuffled around for today’s feature.
We decided upon a game that should be a fan favorite. An opponent getting ran over by an old-fashion Huskers running game? Check. NFL players dotting the roster? Check. An absolute blowout? Check.
Best of all, a Big Ten conference matchup that once wasn’t? That’s a big check.
Before Nebraska faced Northwestern on an annual basis, they met up with the Big Ten’s Upset Special in the 2000 Alamo Bowl.
The college football world expected a scrappy game. Instead, they witnessed a Big Red evisceration of the new millennium’s Wildcats.
Take some time to slip on some red, get a cold beverage and sit back while enjoying a Big Ten bash before the idea was ever a remote possibility.
