Huskers Softball: Rhonda Revelle Named Big Ten Coach of The Year

A 40-win season for Huskers softball showed the guts, resiliency and amazing talent this team has. The 2013-2014 season marks the first time since 2006 that the Big Red had a whopping four-zero in the win column. Nebraska’s 18-5 Big Ten record marks the best conference win total in the program’s history. These numbers couldn’t be put up without the tireless work of head coach Rhonda Revelle. For her efforts, the always humble head coach was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year. Her charges litter the All-Big Ten Teams with Hailey Decker, Tatum and Taylor Edwards receiving first-team honors. Alicia Armstrong, MJ Knighten and Emily Lockman were named to the second-team. The Edwards sisters were also named to the All-Defensive Team while Mattie Fowler took home the conference’s Sportsmanship Award. There’s more potential history made for Revelle whose Huskers are likely to be a high seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
