The kicker loved by all Husker football fans, Brett Maher, has signed on with the CFL’s Winnepeg Blue Bombers.

An undrafted free agent, Maher spent time with the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys in 2013, but saw no preseason or regular season action.

While at Nebraska, he went 102-103 on PATs and was 39-50 on FGs with a long of 54 yards. He only missed three of 11 attempts from 40-49 yards during his Husker football career.

He garnered several awards during his senior season including being named the Big Ten’s second-team kicker and punter. Maher was also named Phil Steele’s first-team Big Ten kicker and the Bakken-Andersen Big Ten co-Kicker of the Year.
