Yet another defensive end receives an invite to become a Blackshirt and this one’s a doozy. Keisean Lucier-South out of Orange, CA is considered one of the best defensive end prospects of the 2015 cycle.
He’s ranked as the No. 2 weakside defensive end overall, No. 6 prospect in-state and No. 29 prospect overall according to the 247Sports Composite Index.
The 6’5″ 225-pound defensive end holds offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, Alabama USC, UCLA, Washington and LSU among a host of others.
Lucier-South’s pass rushing ability is perfect for the return of Bo Pelini’s pass rushing affinity. His overall awareness is impressive, but on misdirection plays such as standard read option it’s amazing.
If teams like Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin continue to employ elements of speed out of the backfield, Lucier-South would be a valuable position from his defensive end spot.
He’d also be an ideal addition for a Pac-12 team and UCLA is currently pursuing him hard. However, Michigan is sending their best recruiters as well. While an unlikely get for the Huskers, Rick Kaczenski will likely do everything he can to have a little chat with Lucier-South and family.
