Fun fact: Nebraska baseball (29-17, 10-4 Big Ten) matched its win total from last year with a 4-1 victory over the UNO Mavericks 21-17 (6-6 Summit). The Mavericks led 1-0 heading into the top of the sixth, but the Husker bats finally came alive giving the Big Red a 2-1 lead.
Seven hits were laid down by Nebraska once the sixth inning came around, but the true beginning of the end came in the top of the eighth. Austin Darby was walked before stealing second and Pat Kelly got plunked by a pitch with one away.
A single by Blake Headley put UNO in a tight spot and Ben Miller took advantage, singling which brought Darby around for a 3-1 Husker lead.
Austin Christensen tripped the bases thanks to a sac bunt by Taylor Fish, followed by a groundout by Ryan Boldt and a single by Darby.
Next up for Nebraska baseball is another Big Ten series with the Penn State Nittany Lions (17-23, 5-9 Big Ten).
