This seems like a simple concept, but it hasn’t been for Pelini’s teams. A perfect example: since he became head coach, the Huskers have a minus-28 turnover margin. That’s good for a national ranking of No. 104. Nebraska has become an embarrassment when it comes to penalties ranking No. 94 in that same span.

Quarterbacks not making proper reads, not securing the football properly and poor mental preparation, all of these are critical parts of the game that have been facets of recent Husker squads. The end result is unexpected losses instead of should-be wins.

Shore those problems up and Nebraska will stomp the teams it should, compete with those it should go toe to toe with and if the Big Red loses games, it’ll at least be by a smaller margin.
