The Nebraska football recruiting skills of Rich Fisher and John Garrison paid off with the commitment of Oak Lawn, IL wide recever Spencer Tears.
The 6’2″ 175-pound receiver was in attendance for the Red-White Spring Game and clearly saw where he could fit into offensive coordinator Tim Beck’s plans moving forward.
According to Huskers Illustrated, Tears’ head coach at Harold L. Richards High School, Tony Sheehan said the family enjoyed the trip so much that they all decided to make the decision early.
“They loved everything. The game, the people around and how much they care about Nebraska football,” he said. “I know he and his mom loved the academic part with how everything is right there.”
Tears is ranked as the No. 88 wide receiver overall and No. 12 prospect in the state of Illinois according to the 247Sports Composite Index.
