Nebraska Football Gets Two Primetime Spotlights

Some pleasant news came today for Nebraska football. Both the Huskers’ non-conference tilt against the Miami Hurricanes and major Big Ten match-up versus Michigan State will be shown in prime time.

Nebraska and Miami will clash at 8:00 p.m. on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. The Huskers’ battle against the Spartans takes place on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2.

Having ESPN’s College Gameday visit Lincoln for the Miami game isn’t totally out of the question. If the Big Red start the regular season 3-0 by toppling Florida Atlantic, McNeese State and Fresno State, the trip would be a far easier sell.

The motivation behind the visit would be perfect as not only would Bo Pelini’s seventh season be off to a flawless start. Husker fans have been drooling over the idea of seeing the Hurricanes in Lincoln for decades. Now their wish has been granted.

Should Nebraska go 2-0 in both games, a strong statement would be made about the 2014 Huskers squad. The Big Ten may see a stronger Nebraska team than it’s ever had to deal with.
