Tell me if you’ve heard this one before: an offensive lineman from Nebraska has committed to play for the Cornhuskers. I know, it’s stunning. Quite frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for Omaha, NE’s Michael Decker to pledge his allegiance to the scarlet and cream.
The 6’4″ 280-pound lineman has been considered all but a lock for the Big Red after having visiting Lincoln three times including two unofficial visits. Most who follow Nebraska football recruiting had him pegged as a commitment shortly after he attended the Huskers’ Junior Day. He committed to Nebraska over Kansas State thanks to the hard work of Barney Cotton and John Garrison.
While Decker is not currently rated according to the 247Sports Composite Index, look for him to get an initial rating soon and for it to likely fluctuate during his senior season. It’s likely that he’ll start out at the approximate value of a three-star commitment.
