Husker fans who follow Nebraska football recruiting are very familiar with a hashtag that comes from coaches whenever good news is just around the corner.
The Big Red got their second #boom of the day when 6’8″ 240-pound Daishon Neal pulled the trigger.
I announce my commitment to Nebraska! Blessed! #FutureHusker
— DaiShon (@DaishonNeal90) April 10, 2014
The Omaha Central defensive tackle is the second in-state prospect of the day to commit to Nebraska. Offensive guard Michael Decker’s commitment was made official merely hours earlier in the day.
Neal’s commitment helps to continue adding depth to a solidifying defensive line. While Husker fans are likely to see Vincent Valentine, Maliek Collins, Kevin Maurice and others this fall, defensive prospects like Neal can only help the future of where winning and losing starts: in the trenches.
While he is currently unranked by the 247Sports Composite Index, he’ll likely begin with a ranking of a mid-level prospect.
We’ll be following up with what these commits mean and how they could affect others in the next Big Board.
