Bo Pelini Confirms Spring Game Format Change

As was alluded to during last Saturday’s practice, Bo Pelini will be hosting a Red-White Spring Game featuring an offense versus defense format.

To make things interesting (as far as you know), a modified point system will be used to help determine a winner because ties are simply horrible things that shouldn’t happen.

Several other teams will be using a special point system for their spring scrimmages including 2014 Nebraska opponent Miami (FL), Notre Dame and one of FBS’ newest additions, Appalachian State.

The phrase “basketball on grass” may have never been more appropriate. Pelini’s football team may rival some of the scoring that happened this season over in the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Yet again, another Big Ten team will fall (technically).

Approximately 48,000 tickets have been sold for the event. From Lincoln’s ABC 8 news:

At this point, scattered t-storms are possible for Saturday afternoon. This may affect the Spring Game. Rain becomes more widespread by Saturday night. Widespread rain is expected through Sunday.
