Tim Miles is going to have some challenges to overcome this offseason.

He lost assistant coach and right hand man Craig Smith to South Dakota. Fortunately, all starters are returning, but he’ll need to address their maturation. The necessity of a quality big man is the difference between more wins and losses at this point.

As of now, the Huskers simply don’t have that. Miles will likely address this as best he can.

During Smith’s departing speech, he stated that, “Six of our top nine guys were freshmen and sophomores, and that team’s got a chance to be a top-25 team for most of the year next year.”
