We have turned the page to week seven of the college football season. This week we feature five matchups, three of which are top 25 battles. Just a friendly reminder, all point spreads are based on lines at MGM/Mirage. These picks are for entertainment purposes only. Bet at your own risk.
#12 Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Longhorns
Spread: Oklahoma -14
Who to take: Texas
Rivalry games are always a toss up. In this case the game is played every year at the Texas State Fair. It’s a neutral site game which makes it even more of a toss up. Oklahoma is clearly a better team than Texas, but 14 points seems like a large spread for a game like this. I like Oklahoma to win but not by two touchdowns.
#17 Florida Gators at #10 LSU Tigers
Spread: LSU -7
Who to take: LSU
The Tigers are a much better football team than Florida. Since the game is being played in Baton Rouge and LSU is hungry for a top 25 win after falling to Georgia a few weeks back, look for the Tigers to take a big bite out of the Gators and knock them out of the polls.
#2 Oregon Ducks at #16 Washington Huskies
Spread: Oregon -14
Who to take: Oregon
It could be argued that Oregon is the best team in the nation. Not to take anything away from Washington, but Oregon should run away with this. Led by Heisman candidate Marcus Mariots, look for the Ducks to win by three touchdowns or more.
#19 Northwestern Wildcats at Wisconsin Badgers
Spread: Wisconsin -10 1/2
Who to take: Northwestern
The Wildcasts are coming off of a tough loss to #4 Ohio State and will be looking to prove their doubters wrong. The problem they will run into is a quality Wisconsin team that is always tough to beat at home. I think the Badgers win in a game that comes down to a field goal. Wisconsin by 3.
#25 Missouri Tigers at #7 Georgia Bulldogs
Spread: Georgia -8 1/2
Who to take: Georgia
The Bulldogs are at home and even with injuries can out gun the Tigers. Missouri is having a better go in 2013 than they did last year, but they aren’t close to elite level in the SEC. Look for Georgia to win by two touchdowns on Saturday.
