The Wyoming Cowboys roll into Lincoln for the first time since 1994, when Brook Berringer made his first career start. The Nebraska Cornhuskers look to make quick work of The Cowboys and turn the page from a disappointing end to the 2012 season.
Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith will look to expose a young Husker defense, especially at the linebacker position. Smith is a duel quarterback who will likely throw on the run, which has caused The Blackshirts problems in recent years. The game will provide Nebraska a chance to get their inexperienced group valuable game time against a one dimensional opponent early in the season.
Nebraska will likely keep things simple against a porous Cowboys defense that was one of the nations worst in 2012. Taylor Martinez, Ameer Abdullah, and Imani Cross are all likely to run free against Wyoming. There is a possibility that we may see a few new wrinkles in offensive coordinator Tim Beck’s offense, but it would be surprising if the game plan was not vanilla.
