The Nebraska Cornhuskers are overwhelming favorites to beat Wyoming on Saturday. There is a wide talent gap between the teams, and the Huskers should have no problem with the Cowboys if they follow their keys to victory.
1) Pound The Rock:
Nebraska should run the ball early and often against Wyoming this weekend. There is no need to get flashy or show any more than they need to offensively. Ameer Abdullah, Imani Cross, and Terrell Newby can carry the load for Nebraska, and the trio should rack up a ton of yardage on the ground. If the Huskers just take what they are given from the Cowboys it will be a productive win for Nebraska
2) Limit Turnovers:
This has been a problem for Nebraska over the past several seasons. If Taylor Martinez makes good decisions and everyone keeps a firm grip on the football, the Huskers would probably have a few more wins over the last few years. It will be important for Nebraska to set the tone on ball security early in 2013. If they win the turnover battle they win the game.
3) Young Players Need To Keep Their Composure:
There are a lot of new faces on this team, especially on the defensive site of the ball. If these young defenders can keep their composure under the bright lights in front of ninety plus thousand screaming fans everything will be fine. They also need to stay composed if something goes wrong. Things snowballing out of control after miscues is another trademark of this team. Stay calm and make tackles.
If the Nebraska Cornhuskers keep it simple, hold on to the ball, and can keep the young guys calm, this game will be a cake walk.
