Nebraska Cornhuskers Ranked 18 In AP Preseason Poll

The Associated Press released their 2013 Preseason Poll earlier today, and The Nebraska Cornhuskers checked in at number eighteen. The Huskers also came in at 18 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll.

Expectations are high for the 2013 Nebraska Cornhuskers with senior Taylor Martinez and a high flying offense set to light up the scoreboard. Martinez will have Ameer Abdullah in the backfield and an army of wide receivers who are expected to have a huge impact this season.

Nebraska is not the only Big Ten team in the A.P. Top 25. The Ohio State Buckeyes start 2013 as the number two team in the nation. The Buckeyes are coming off of a two year postseason ban that kept Urban Meyer’s undefeated squad from playing for a national championship in 2012.

Legends Division riaval Michigan comes in one spot in front of Nebraska at seventeen. Brady Hoke and company also look to have a big season led by quarterback Devin Gardener and runnning back Fitz Toussaint. Northwestern comes in at twenty two, and Wisconsin is ranked twenty third in the nation.

UCLA, who travels to Lincoln in early September also appears in the A.P. Poll at twenty one.
