05- Stanford Cardinal:

Coach: David Shaw

Record: Overall 12-2   PAC 12 (9-1)

Stanford is a throwback to The Nebraska Cornhuskers of the mid to late 1990’s. You know exactly what they are going to do, and it’s up to you to try to stop them. Their offensive line is the best in the nation. Four of the five starters from last year are back, and Andrus Peat, who chose Stanford over Nebraska, is probably going to step in without The Cardinal missing a beat.

Stanford had the best defense in The PAC 12 last season, and they have eight starters returning. They struggled against the pass, but another year of experience could improve their pass defense.

2013 Outlook: Stanford will contend for a PAC 12 Championship in 2013. Oregon is the only real threat to The Cardinal. While UCLA and USC are not cupcakes, I don’t see either of them being able to shut down the power run game that Stanford possesses or be able to put up enough points to out score them. Stanford will either be playing in a BCS Bowl this year, possibly with just one loss.
