University of Nebraska wide receiver Kenny Bell has been named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Award Watch List. The Biletnikoff Award is awarded to the top college football wide receiver in the nation. The award has been handed out since 1994, and has never been won by a member of The Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Kenny Bell is expected to lead the way for the Nebraska offense along with quarterback Taylor Martinez and running back Ameer Abdullah. Bell led the team in both receptions and yards last season. He finished 2012 with 50 receptions, 863 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Abdullah is expected by many to break the thousand yard receiving mark in 2013.
Abdullah is joined on the watch list by fellow Big Ten receivers Jared Abbrederis of Wisconsin, Corey Brown of Ohio State, Aaron Burbridge of Michigan State, Jeremy Gallon of Michigan, Cody Latimer of Inidana, Allen Robinson of Penn State, and Devin Smith of Ohio State.
Other notable receivers making the preliminary watch list include Alabama’s Kevin Norwood, Louisville wide receiver Devante Parker, and last years winner USC wide receiver Marqise Lee.
While Kenny Bell is a long shot to win the award, being listed with such a great group of receivers shows just how valuable he will be to the Nebraska Cornhusker offense in 2013.
