Larenzo Stewart Becomes Huskers 11th Commit

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added their eleventh commit of the summer. Sean Callahan of HuskerOnline broke the news Friday evening.

Callahan later corrected by stating

Stewart is actaully commit No. 11…forgot to subtract Hall’s from earlier tonight.

Stewart is considered a three star running back by many recruiting services, and will add to what is already a stellar stable of backs in Lincoln.

The early number of commits for the 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes for Nebraska is encouraging. While getting a commitment from juniors and seniors in high school are far from concrete, as we learned from Jason Hall’s decommitment from the Huskers, showing an early interest can help the team in the long run.

Nebraska’s coaching staff is hitting the recruiting trail hard this summer trying to keep pace with Big Ten juggernauts Ohio State and Michigan. The past few days have been huge for the Huskers. Thursday brought two commitments from the state of Missouri in  TE Freedom Akinmoladun from Grandview Missouri and WR Monte Harrison Lee’s Summit Missouri.
