The Nebraska Cornhuskers won the Big Ten Legends Division in 2012. Many are questioning if they can duplicate that feat this year.
Looking at Nebraska’s 2013 schedule the simple answer is yes, they can win The Legends Division in back to back years. Opening the season against non conference opponents Wyoming, Southern Miss, and UCLA will be nice tune ups for the Huskers before Big Ten play begins.
Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Iowa are on the Big Ten chopping block for The Big Red. With powerhouse teams like Wisconsin and Ohio State absent from the Huskers 2013 schedule, winning the division is more than possible.
Division rivals Michigan has both Wisconsin and Ohio State on their slate, and also have to take down Michigan State in order to play in Indianapolis in December. So even if Nebraska slips up in The Big House, they still have a good chance at playing for a Big Ten Championship, most likely against Urban Meyer and his Ohio State Buckeyes. As long as Nebraska wins the games they should (all but Michigan) they might actually have more than a Big Ten Title on the line.
It will be up to the coaching staff and personnel to do their jobs, but a division championship should be expected not questioned.
