UCLA Will Challenge D Line

Jim Mora Jr. and his UCLA Bruins have watched film, formulated their game plan, and are waiting for a prime time showdown with Nebraska. Mora has appeared on sports talk shows and praised Bo Pelini, Taylor Martinez, and the Huskers.  He acknowledged the importance of tomorrow nights PAC 12 B1G match up in The Rose Bowl.

The Bruins ran right through a weak Rice defense last week, literally. Bruin running back Johnathan Franklin gashed the Owls for 214 yards and three scores. Quarterback Brett Hudley also showed the ability to run the football, amassing 68 yards and a touchdown of his own.

This is the first true challenge for the 2012 Blackshirt defense. Southern Miss is loaded with athletes, but they are not the same caliber as UCLA’s rushing attack. The Bruin offensive line is bigger, stronger, and better coached. The Husker defensive line will be the key to stopping Franklin and Co from putting points on the board.  Chase Rome, Thad Randle, Jason Ankrah, Baker Steinkuhler, and Cameron Meredith need to prove to Husker Nation that they can play together.

Nebraska will score on this Bruin Defense. We may see another stellar performance from Husker quarterback Taylor Martinez. Expect the  young stable of back up running backs to rack up big yardage in Pasadena.

My prediction.

Nebraska 41

UCLA 31
