Miles hires coach with similar roots

Jayden Olson was hired to the basketball staff Thursday by new Nebraska coach Tim Miles.

Olson and Miles, who worked together at Colorado State, have a similar background.

Both worked extensively in the Dakotas, with Olson working as a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Dakota, then spending three seasons working as the top assistant coach at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. Olson then joined Miles at CSU.

While at CSU, Olson acted as the video coordinator in 2010-11, then was promoted to director of operations in the Rams’ NCAA Tournament campaign in 2011-12.

As the director of operations, Olson worked with the team’s budget, scheduling, travel and academics.
