New Jersey Corner Lands Husker Offer

by Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nebraska has taken an interest in the state of New Jersey. They recently offered Jersey City, New Jersey cornerback Tre’ Bell a scholarship. He is up to 11 offers.

“Nebraska offered me on February 13th,” Bell said. “They were the most recent offer.”

His list of offers consist of Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Florida, Temple, Central Florida, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

“South Carolina was my first offer, so I guess they would be my favorite right now,” Bell said. “I am not sure when, and where I will be taking my visits. I guess if I had to  choose right now the top 5 I would pick would be Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Cal, and possibly LSU if they offered.”

Of the schools that Bell is hearing from the most, the 4 star cornerback is hearing a lot from Big Ten, and east coast schools.

“I hear from Michigan, Florida, UCON, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Penn state lately,” Bell said. “Nebraska is loosing a lot of seniors. That’s petty big. I feel pretty good about Nebraska’s offer, and I am really interested in them. The coaches and I  have talked about football, and the academic stuff there.”

One of the strongest selling points that the NU staff has pushed has been the recent success of one former Husker.

“Prince Amukamara used to play there,” Bell said. “He plays for the Giants, and they just made it to the Super Bowl. After being coached by that staff, and then playing in the Super Bowl, that’s huge to me.”

Of the schools that haven’t offered him Bell has seen some schools he would like to hear from.

“I haven’t heard from LSU, Clemson or Notre Dame,” Bell said. “I would like to hear form them, and Boise State.”

Bell recorded 36 tackles, 3 interceptions, 10 pass break ups, and 2 forced fumbles in his junior year.
